That's not a regulatory lecture; it's a quality control issue. When your customer feels misled, they call you, not the person who made the claim.

So What Does a Solar Battery Really Cost?

I don't have hard data on a national average, and I wish I had tracked our quotes more carefully from the start. What I can say anecdotally: of the 30+ system quotes we reviewed in Q4 2024, the installed price for a Tesla Powerwall-class battery in northwest Arkansas—Rogers, Fayetteville, Bentonville—came in between $13,200 and $17,800. Where I'd Push Back on Morningstar

I'm not going to tell you Morningstar is the only brand that works, or that every install needs a TriStar. A small RV with one panel and a 100Ah battery can run perfectly well on a simpler PWM controller. I've also seen integrators install Morningstar controllers and leave them on factory defaults, which defeats the monitoring advantage.
